Jason Carroll
Jason graduated with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Harvard University in 2000. Within computer science Jason focused his study on theory and algorithms, culminating in research and an undergraduate thesis on job scheduling algorithms in a distributed computing environment. Out of college Jason sharpened his teeth at another quantitative trading firm in New York prior to founding Hudson River Trading in February of 2002 with his partners Suhas Daftuar and Alex Morcos. Since then, Jason's role at the firm has primarily been to oversee the construction and expansion of our trading technology.
Suhas Daftuar
Suhas is a founder and owner of Hudson River Trading LLC and brings years of training as a mathematician to the firm. After graduating from Harvard, where he studied mathematics and computer science, he gained experience as a cryptologic mathematician, specializing in applying abstract algebra over finite fields to solve real-world problems in coding theory. Suhas discovered that his math and programming skills were applicable outside traditional academic environments and provided a solid foundation for research and development of automated trading strategies. He founded HRT with Alex and Jason in February 2002 and focused on building a highly consistent, highly profitable trading strategy for the firm. Presently he manages both strategy development and daily trading operations, while also continuing to develop and optimize proprietary algorithms that underpin all of the firm's strategies.
Alex Morcos
Alex graduated from MIT in 1997 with degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics. Alex concentrated his studies and work in cryptography and in solving analytical problems on large data sets using powerful computer systems. Following MIT, Alex worked for 3 years as one of the initial employees at a quickly growing quantitative trading firm in New York. There he began development of the algorithmic trading strategies that would become the cornerstone of Hudson River Trading's business. Since founding the company in 2002 with Jason and Suhas, Alex has worked to expand HRT's breadth of trading expertise and orchestrate the rapid growth of the business, as well as continued hands on strategy development.
